Never heard any of that. When I had my male I had him done at 6 months. Never had any issues with urinating at all.

The vet said six months is a good time because he is pretty mature and it wouldn't hinder anything. He doesn't like to do it any earlier than that.

House training is about you and your dilligence. Better to do it at the 6 month mark because it's right around that time they start reaching sexual maturity and will start marking and humping.
