I have the Petmate from Petco for my little guy. I also have one for my Jack Russell Terrier that he has slept in for nine years.
Both of my dogs sleep next to my bed in their Petmates and we've never had a problem since night one. I also have a wire crate that Cooper uses during the day while we are at work. It stays in the laundry room and he seems to like it.
