For my show boy I bathe him using #1 All Systems Super-Cleaning and Conditioning Shampoo. In a quart bottle I add 2 tablespoons of #1 All Systems Pure Lanolin Plus With Hair Emollients, plus 2 tablespoons of #1 All Systems Super-rich Conditioner; fill bottle with warm water, shake well and pour over your dogs coat, slowly working it in, then rinse dog with warm water and blow him dry. The coat will be oily but will not mat. You should bathe them every four days when they are in oil. You do not have to wrap them but if their coat is very long you might need to put some scrunchies on them to keep the coat off the floor and to keep the male dogs from peeing on their coats. I am still new to this so I really just saying what I have been doing. I know some people use Neutrogena Body Oil (fragrance free) and add that to water and pour over the coat. I know what works for one dog might not work for another so sometimes it is trial and error. I have a hard time keeping scrunchies on my boy but his coat is getting to the point where I need to do something if I am going to continue showing him. He just has one point toward his championship and he has turned out bigger than I had hoped but he has been a great learning experience for me. I have attached a picture of him; I had just taken him out of oil and he was still a little damp and not brushed out real well yet. |
