Is Eddie in a crate or enclosure when you leave?
Wrigley has it too. Depending on how long we are gone, we leave music or the tv on for her.
She has gotten better, she used to dig at the drywall, window sills, etc..
We did keep her in a playpen until recently, we are testing having her out where she can lay with Crosley ( our yorkie poo ).
I don't know how old Eddie is, but I know they tend to feel safer in enclosed spaces. I think it makes them less anxious.
