They can't get out yet so mom can jump in and feed when she want during the night. I try and keep her away most of the day and feed the pups about 3 times and then mom has them at night. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. Only 2 of the pups have teeth poping through now and the other 2 you can feel them about ready to. Can they eat the ground up food without teeth?
Yes, they can easily eat the ground up food. They just lick it up. I grind it very fine at first and as they get older I don't grind it quite as fine. When mine are 6 weeks I start adding a little canned Pedigree Lamb and Rice puppy food to the ground food to make it a little moist and I put that out twice a day but I always leave a bowl of the dry food out. It would be a good idea to let the mom with her pups throughout the day because that is an important part of socialization.
