 Food too
I almost forgot that Solid Gold is canned food, which is the only kind I feed either of my dogs. The big dog begins to itch, flake, and loose his shiny coat after about a week on any kind of dry food. I just have a bias for wet food, but it is more expensive, and some dogs refuse it. My vet told me once that dry food is the one of the biggest culprits for exacerbating any existing skin conditions, and causing dogs to drink more, thus setting up the dog for possible bloat. Stanford refuses any kind of dry food (even before I took him in, according to his previous family...but had to eat it as they felt this was "better than spoiling him with wet food.") Oh well.
Then again, some persons swear by dry, and never have a problem. So who knows? Just try some different options, and keep us posted. |
