Just like with people, the pain meds don't take away ALL of the pain. In addition, the pain meds can make them sleepy. Between the two, Gracie was quiet for about 10 days. My vet gave me about two weeks worth of Rimadyl and 10 days worth of Tramadol. I would question anything less than a week's supply. There is no reason for your baby to suffer. This is a painful surgery. I wish your little one the best.
