a little bit of pain is a good thing (although you don't want her to be in a lot of pain). You can't tell a dog that they just had surgery and need to be still...if they feel great, they are going to be their normal, active selfs. Pain is a signal that something isn't right and will keep the dog from injuring itself. I'm pretty sure that is what your vet meant
