It not just that $10 but the other $10 for that and $20 more here and I have heard $50 and $100 if your papers get messed up even if its their fault. Money Money Money, thats all I hear from AKC for the past 10 to 15 years.
There are some good pedigree services besides AKC.
The fact is it should be about the dog anyways and not about the registry they are with. If the dog is a good representative of its breed then it should not matter if its registered with any registry.
