I don't remember if it was my vet or who told me, but someone said that when their poops are more formed and drier, it helps to clear the anal sacs too so they don't need to have them expressed. Max isn't on Innova (although I'm trying him on EVO right now to see how he reacts to it ...there's never a problem with EATING it; he'll eat ANYTHING
) but his prescription food made his poops a lot drier since he started on it and the vet said it was a good thing. Of course, as long as they're not having problems passing it or any pain or constipation (which you said your dog wasn't having). Makes for a much easier pickup too!
