Just a thought but how about something like.....
you name yourself and your dog (and maybe where you are from) and then
the next person in line names you, your dog, (where you're from) and then themself and their dog (and where they're from) and then
the next person names you, your dog, (where you are from) the next person, their dog, (where they are from) and then themself and their dog (and where they are from) and so on down the line.
That might be fun trying to remember every one and every dog UNLESS you're at the end of the line!!!!!
