Izzy was micochipped with the Home Alone at the time of her spay and total cost just for that was $72.00 but that incuded the registration fees by Home Alone. Well worth it and I did see her chip number when our vet scanned to show me.
Two reasons to get while they are getting spayed or neutured..cost is less and only going under once vs. twice.
I wouldn't recommend them getting the chip at a Petsmart without anesthetic. Our vet told us it's more uncomfortable on them to insert on the little ones vs. the big dogs without it. I would only have my vet insert the microchip...just my opinion.
