Sounds like your doing great there. Your yorkie might be crying at first because the baby's cry startled him.
When my sil had my niece when Olivia would cry punkin did the same the first few times. Then when Olivia would cry when she got used to what was going on she would go to Cee and softly woof at her to get her attention and walk back to where Olivia was situated.
