It's just hair..it will grow back, but I dont think you're going to regret it! Thats kind of what I got, but its a little longer. I have to cover up a tattoo on the back of my neck for work and I wanted to still be able to put it up if I need to. Mine's not quite as drastic as hers. And it looks a little different cause he didn't use a flat iron on it.
