I do not know anyone that is working on a permit now or in the recent past....sorry!
But when I turned 16 my dad was the one that completed the driver's ed course with me.....and we got that course information from the state for a fee. (At that time you had to buy your textbook from the state.) I know others that took a driver's ed course at a private driving school. Here is the link to the program information:

I would definately contact them and ask why you, as aunt, can not be the instructor.....and explain your particular situation.
