sorry to completely go off topic here and state the obvious but the murder rate in washington dc - our nations capital is over 60% higher than that of arubas .. i'd feel much safer going there than many other islands.
if you are upset about the way the government handled the murders you better steer clear of every major city in the US which has PLENTY of unsolved inner city murders for lack of funding of the police - caring because of where the murders happen or whatever..
it is TERRRRRIBLY tragic what happened to natalee holloway but if you want to take up a cause how about inner city philadelphia with murder rates of 1.5 a day?
i went to the bahamas for senior week - you drink all day and night.. you put yourself in a precarious situation - this would be whether you are in aruba or florida.. vegas where ever..
personally - my next vacay is going to be aruba - i hear it is the most fun and the beaches are amazing.
