Hi Jackie, I have a stethoscope that I cannot hear the heartbeats of the puppies very well. I have a friend who has a doppler which worked great.
I know there is really no benefit of having either but I just like to listen. Also, after the whelping, I like to check to see if all the puppies are out.
I have found one for 115 that has 97 reviews and each review was great. I just wanted to make sure it was safe to use on the bitch. since it uses ultra sound waves.
