Good idea to keep track of peds though, but don't usually registrations do that? How many Biewers are on pedigreedatabase? Have lots of breeders put their dogs info out there? I don't think I want anyone looking over my dogs info unless they go to my web site. I will let the registries keep track of peds for me. |
You are right Kathy, this database was started for GSD but they then opened it up and a breeder in Germany started loading many of the old pedigree's so we could follow the breedings of these dogs. There are over 550 pedigree's on the Biewers. It is a so helpful for any breeder to load this information to help follow the health issues with these dogs. I would love for the registries to share this information but usually stud books are not open for the public (I believe the AKC does not share their's) and with the many Biewer registries in Germany this information would be next to impossible to document. How will we ever track LS if we don't do this?
