Be Careful Having just been in the exact same situation, be very careful and screen the owner(s) when they call to claim him. I did the same things you have done, found the owner (who was not too thrilled to get the dog back, or so it seemed), only to find him wandering in much worse shape a month later.
I know my case is probably an abnormality, but maybe go see the owners first without the dog, and check them out. If they are truly "good" persons, they will understand. And they might have a pic, or more info.
I wish I had never returned Stanford to his previous owner...he was half starved and had tremendous hair loss when I got him again. Now is part of my family forever. |
