I want to train him to go indoors and have read many posts here on crate training. I have also talked to many other dog owners and vets about his topic. I have gotten many different answers and ways to do it. Could anyone help me by telling me the most basic way to train him? Also my dog hates the crate I bought him but seems to like his carrier which is a sherpa bag. Could I use this bag as the crate instead? Thanks |
I don't know if the carrier would work, since it is a bag. It might though since the whole concept of the crate is to teach them to hold it and wait until they can get outside. Most dogs don't like going to the bathroom where they sleep. What I would do is try to make a game out of getting in his crate, everytime he goes in give him and treat and lots of praise. Take him outside immediately after you get him out of the crate. He will cry at first, just be brave. They also have belly bands for boys. I've never used them before and am not sure how they work. I'm sure someone here could probably answer that for you.
