A good thing to do (we have done this for years now) is to create a wish list. As the days go by if we are just virtual shopping and we see things we like we send the link to each other and request it be a possible on our wish list. The prices range on each item so if the other has x amount budgeted to spend he can find something in that range.
Love this because I am always able to get him something he likes.
Hubby is a huge Giants fan so I got him one of their real jerseys, a new fitted to go with it. He was in hog heaven...of course he got it already because it had to be worn for the super bowl.
