Hello!
Our baby will be 12 wks old tomorrow and she is finally definitely learning what "no bite" means. We've had her for 3 wks and it took a LOT of constant reminding. But she is doing so much better then she used to. She doesn't bit as often anymore but I've noticed that she will occasionally "test" us though. Every now and then she will try biting us again and we have to "remind" her again...but now she usually immediately stops.
We especially had trouble with her trying to bite our toes, feet and pants. Anytime she did this (or tried to bite our hands, etc) we would stop whatever we were doing and firmly tell her "no bite". I also "yelp" really loudly (in a high pitch voice) or yell "ow" when she bites. At times when this alone hasn't worked, I have tapped or flicked her (gently) on the nose when she was really persistently biting and just wouldn't stop.
I also always try to distract by grabbing a toy and replacing my fingers with the toy...lol!
I've noticed that she is definitely smarter then any other dog I've had before...it amazes me because she's so tiny! LOL!
