YES! My FIL was the winemaker there for YEARS (winemaster) and even has a wine named after him .

Most of the Zinfandels these days are too "hot" or spicy (which I love) and for someone who's not used to drinking wine it might be too much. I'd stick to a cabernet or a syrah, or a petite sirah if you want red. If you could find an Altamura Sangiovese, that would be great too; it runs about $25 a bottle here in CA.

If you want white, I'd try a Sauvignon Blanc or Fume Blanc . If you want something sweet, try a Riesling (if you have a Trader Joe's, they usually carry one by Trimbach that's EXCELLENT) (and that's Riesling, not Dry Riesling).
