 Poor Baby
A friend of mine had this same thing happen to her beagle. Her dog ended up having Mange. This is a sickness that dogs get from mites that crawl into the skin. I would suggest getting your little one checked, since if not treated Mange can be fatal. I really hope that my prediction is way off and that your doggie is ok. Best of Luck!!
