When I first got Ranger he HATED being groomed and would attack my hands/brushes, I spoke with a dog trainer who told me to pinch his upper lip with my thumb and forefinger, look the dog in the eye, and say "don't bite" (not getting mad or yelling). It was a little harsh for me, but after struggling with him for weeks I gave up and tried it, he looked at me like I bit him (go figure) and has been perfectly behaved (as far as biting) since. The dog trainer said this replicates what mom would do to him. Good luck!
