your kids know this...and they know that you will always do your best to be there for them like that. but honestly....and my in-laws told me this....there WILL be times that you can't be at a recital, game, competition. it's nearly impossible to NEVER miss anything. and like i said earlier...she is so young. you will have SO many things to watch her do...and there will be several other "firsts" for her.
but I totally know how you feel.
