Mainly it is the location. You need to establish one place where it is acceptable to go potty. Keep the pad in the same place, don't move it around.
I have my dog room/office divided by a gate/fence. One of my girls cries and cries if she can't be inside the gate with me while I work, so she spends most of her time in there with me. I put a half size potty pad in there since she couldn't get to the regular potty pad on the other side of the gate. She has never used it. When she needs to go, she usually cries at the fence for me to put her over and then she runs over to the regular pad and goes on it. My other girl, though, if I put her in here with me will use the pad that is in here. Either way is fine with me as long as they don't go on the floor! |
