My heart absolutely aches for you. I get teary eyed and heavy chested just thinking about if one of my babies went missing or got stolen. I've made appointments for them at our daycare who's holding a specfial to be microchipped on Valentine's Day. I even told my boyfriend I don't want anything for Valentine's but my babies microchipped. It's so amazing how sudden they can be gone and how cruel people can be! I would find the best picture you have of him, print it in full color with the best quality, post it on HOT ORANGE flyers, bold black letters, and post those flyers everywhere! I know that personally I pay attention to bold flyers where I tend to look over just plain white paper with black and white. In fact, I saw a neon orange lost dog poster for a black lab mix the other day. Normally, I wouldn't remember that much info. It was that bright obnoxious poster that caught my eye. Go to Kinkos and have them all laminated so they hold up to rain and wind. I'm so sorry this is long, but I want to give you as much advice as I can! I'm praying for your baby and his safe return! Make sure you take those same flyers to ALL vets as well! A vet can't assume every yorkie brought in is stolen, but if he has a picture (especially ywith your boy have the unique grey mohawk), a vet may remember that and go, "wait a minute.." and take the extra time to make sure the dog wasn't stolen. Take the flyers to super markets, stores, pet boutiques/stores, gas stations, humane society, rescue organizations, EVERYWHERE! Don't give up! Good luck and keep us updated! Let me know if I can help with anything else!
