Ok, well I have an important question....
iPods ARE MP3 players. There is no difference in that dept. Apple (MacIntosh) makes the iPod, but it is still just an MP3 player. Like saying Nike and Reebok make sneakers but they are both sneakers. Ok? Good!
Now, what do you want your MP3 player for? Do you want it for listening to around the house/car/anywhere calmer? Or do you want it for working out, running, gym, etc?
The iPod has a type of memory (flash memory) that allows it take a beating and keep working. But not all iPods, just the Nano and the Shuffle. So its a good choice for the gym/running purpose.
Otherwise you can probably get more for your money with a Zune. Its the PC version of the iPod, made by microsoft. Think of the difference b/t a Mac computer and a microsoft computer. The great thing about the Zune is you can get Radio on it. The iPod you can't. Also the Zune, you can get more 'space' for your money. Its a bit cheaper than the iPod.
Both of these MP3 players have, on their website where you can download music and sync it right to the MP3 player quickly and easily.
I hope I helped you in anyway that I could. Its important to know what you want it for before you make a purchase, you can overbuy and pay for what you don't need, or you can underbuy and end up having to upgrade and thats a waste of money in my opinion.
That being said... I own an iPod Nano 8GB.
Good Luck with your decision!!!!
