I got an I-pod w/Christmas money, and I love it! I got the 8GB Nano, and it holds way more than I thought it would! Plus, if you get I-Pod vs. another brand, there are WAY more accessories for cheaper prices than the newer MP3 players.
A tip for you-if you want the little case/socks for I-Pod, Walmart has the cheapest by far!!! I got 3 colorful rubber skins for it for $7! Also, Best Buy wanted to sell me a cable to connect it to my home stereo/receiver, and BB's was $80-Target had the SAME THING for $8! Keep that in mind
The newer MP3 players have accessories, but you'll pay more, and likely have to get them at Best Buy rather than discount stores.
