I took her out for a late night walk tonight even, and the SECOND we got back into the house, she went #2! The vet had asked me to keep her on pee pads over the weekend to reduce her energy levels and keep her calm. Now, I'm starting to think that I just reversed all of my hard-working potty training. Is this a common side effect?
Also, my dog has never had any separation anxiety...until now! She cries so loud when I leave that the management in my building called me at work 45 mins after I left to tell me that the neighbors are complaining. I had to come home, get her, and drop her off with a friend. Does any of this sound normal? What should I do?
I waited as long as I could to get her spayed out of fear that it would change her personality, manners, etc. And now all of that is happening. Any/all comments are appreciated. Thanks! |
Sorry to hear that. I just had my almost 7 month old spayed last week. Other than her being constipated after she went once, the first day, she went potty outside the same as usual. I heard about the possible personality changes and haven't noticed any of that except for the fact that she has been crying in her crate for awhile every night at bedtime which she wasn't doing previously. The instruction sheet I got said to keep her still and not let her climb, jump for 2 weeks. I was very diligent but after a week now I just can't hold her back any longer. She was back to her old self the 2nd day after for sure. Maybe hormonally yours could be affected more? Did she have one heat before? I'm sure it will only be short term. Good luck.
