The dosage for glucosamine is 500mg/25 lbs of body weight and the dosage for chondroitin is about 400mg/25 lbs of body weight per day.

My vet has me give Lady 250 mg. She's about 7.5 pounds.

Most supplements, food, and treats with added glucosamine don't have enough to do any good. You need that amount to see a difference.

Remember, though, glucosamine won't fix a luxating patella because it's a mechanical problem - the grove in the knee is too shallow. It can help with arthritis, but will not stop the groove from getting more worn down.
