Hubby laughs at me all the time.....But I found this beautiful crystal on sale...They had 2 bowls left in this particular pattern...So I got them.....

Thank you .... as I read this thread, that's exactly what I was wondering!! I have never liked plastic at all, it smells funny. Toto has always had crystal, glass and stainless. She also has a clean water bowl several times a day. I also "sterilize" hers in the dishwasher. I never offer her less than I would expect for myself.
