I have 5 children. 12, 9, 7, 3, 1 and another due in May. I also show and breed yorkies. I think that if you are going to get a puppy, find one that has been raised with children from the beginning. The puppy will be socialized with children and you can teach your children how to be careful. I also agree that you'll want one on the larger side. The smaller ones are just to frail in their body structure.
