I would definitely switch to a better quality food. They are more expensive but definitley worth it when it comes to their coats and pooper scooping
My yorkie gets puppy Orijen, she's 4mths, and my bordier collie\lab gets Acana. Alot less pooping and firmer poops make for easier scooping!!
My yorkie had a problem with dry skin when she was on the iams puppy but her coat is nice and shiny now.
