My toy poodle finally lost his battle with cushings and other complications last year; he was 12 years old. He was diagnosed with Cushings approximately 2 years before we lost him. During those 2 years he was treated with medications and led a pretty normal life until the very end when he got very bad very quickly. According to our vet the younger they are and the earlier it is diagnosed as cushings the better because there are good medications out there now to treat them. Our Rocky did not have any hair loss, skin discoloration or a distended abdomen, but had the test that showed it was definitely Cushings so there must be a number of different symptoms. I'm so sorry your baby is not well and hope you are able to find the problem and have it treated. As I said, my baby was able to live 2 very good years after his initial diagnosis. |
