My pom has Cushings and was first diagnosed with Thyroid disease, we treated that for 6 months and no change in her symptoms so she went to a specialist who diagnosed Cushing's. Maya's symptoms were eating like she had never seen food, massive hair loss especially in the hind quarters, drinking a little more, skin sores and discoloration of skin in the areas of the most hair loss. The discoloration is a bluish black look to the skin. SHe was treated for that but developed liver disease so we had to discontinue treatment and treat the liver disease. You really need a specialist to diagnose and treat Cushing's as the meds are pretty toxic. I hope you can find out what it is. |
