It seems there is always someone around who doesn't like animals. I feel such pity for people like that. They'll never know the unconditional love our babies give to us. Of course, that doesn't help your situation, and I feel terrible for you. The ideal would be what is not an option for you right now, to get another baby. I'm not really sure if this actually works, but I've been told when we leave our babies alone, especially "only" babies to turn on the radio or TV. Makes them think there's someone around.
