I hope that link works, it's some pictures of my lil guy Scrappy, and him with my kiddos.
My son Cameron will be 4 in March. He actually does really well with Scrappy. He loves to hold and cuddle with him. My son also likes to give Scrappy his treats and play with him. We're still working on HOW to play and WHEN to give treats, but they're learning together. Cameron only gets upset when the puppy won't sit still for cuddle time and stuff like that, or if Scrappy prefers Mama to him (Mom, he doesn'tlove me! wah wah)
My daughter Chloe will be 2 in March. She does reasonably well with Scrappy. She is very good with some things, not so good with others. She has a tendency to pick him up wrong, but she's getting a lot better about it. She also likes to pester him while he's sleeping.
I think, overall, my kids are doing great with a yorkie - and that my yorkie is doing great with my kids. All dogs and people can be trained!! I'd just suggest getting apuppy so that the kids and dog are raised and trained together. If you got an older dog who already had issues with kids, etc. then it might be different. We also practiced how to be nice and gentle, how to hold puppies, how to pick them up and put them down before we brought scrappy home.
Good Luck!
