My yorkie McKenzie was listed as a "teacup" and at a little over 4 lbs now I don't think she's too small -- I think she's a pretty standard sized yorkie.

The breeder was knowledgable, didn't guarantee her weight as an adult, and answered all my questions. She held the dogs until 11-12 weeks and seemed trustworthy.

I definitely get upset when I see 1.5 lb dogs being sold for 10,000 or 6 week old puppies being sold.

I got my yorkie/jrt mix Emma from a byb before I knew better and took her at 7 weeks. She was so small and while she's adjusted well, I wonder what harm that did her development being taken from her mother too soon.
Pixie was listed as a 'Tiny bitch puppy' the breeder stated:-'will be too small to breed so kind pet home only. My breeder also warned me in her first email, 'do not expect to be more than 3.5-4lbs' (she's not quite 3lbs at 8 months) she did not charge me more just because she was small, Pixie's brother was alot larger, she was worried he would get too big to show! Pixie was 14 weeks old when i brought her home, she was only 1.5lbs...i would not have wanted her any younger than that! she still frightens me now! we shuffle around our house! my first yorkie was around 5lbs as an adult, and i brought her home at 8 weeks...before i knew any better.
