That's another thing that bugs me...so many people buy a breed of dog and have no clue about it! Isn't it important to know about the dog you own? I'll admit that I didn't know even 1/4 of what I probably do now when I got Lacy..but I at least knew the standard of the breed, the size they were supposed to be, common health problems (although I didn't have a clue they were as common as they are), and that there are no "teacup".

I used to work at a dog boutique/grooming place. This one girl brought her yorkie puppy in and said she wanted his hair really short..really short. So the groomer pretty much shaved him. Under his black puppy air was all silver hair...so the dog changed colors. When the girl picked her dog up, she couldn't believe he was all silver. She wanted to know if it would change back to black? I told her that no, yorkies' hair color changed as they aged, and he was going to have very light hair. She said, "but I don't like it this color"...OMG..you didn't think to see what yorkies looked like when they grew up?? She had absolutely no clue about the yorkie breed when I was talking to her
Well I have to admit, my first yorkie rescue. we want a small dog, my hubby thought I needed a dog, we took him site unseen.. had not clue, fell in love with him, only to discover that is what my sister had was a yorkie, at that time we did so much traveling with the military, we never actually saw her dog until after we got ours.. brandy had been left in a cage in the basement of a home and the lady moved out, he was in a mess from his own waste.. he had to have his hair all shaven off so the vet could clean up his sore's..
We were told by the breeder who had taken him in that he would probably not come to us for weeks, she had him for 6 weeks and he had not came close to any of them, when we got home, I told my hubby to just let him smell and roam around.. he sat in his recliner and guess who jumped up beside him, I called the breeder so excited.. three weeks later, she called me and said I think brandy needs a sister.. the rest is history.. that was a long time ago.
We just knew a dog needed a good home with some one he could trust and have plenty of patience with. He died at home of old age.

Just felt I needed to share that story..
I also camped seasonal and a couple loved my yorkies, she went home and called an ad in the paper... she went and looked and said that is not a yorkie.. they said oh yes it is.. she said well I met a girl with yorkies and this baby does not look like hers.. the next week camping this girl had a yorkie and told me this story.. she did not ask me one question or ask to see any pictures before she spent money on her dog, then was upset because she did not look like mine... I know the feeling of "omg lady"
