I agree. That is a long time. We have a really nice doggie daycare here that does boarding too. The boarder dogs get to do all the activities at the daycare, so it's not like they are in the kennel the whole time and only let out to potty. In fact, one of my friends board her dogs there, and they just play themselves exhausted when they go there, they have a ball!
That said, another idea is if you have someone at work that loves dogs and could care for your pup, or has an older teenager or college student that would housesit/dogsit. My 20 year old daughter does this for a couple that travel frequently. She loves getting away and feeling a little independent, and the dogs don't get uprooted from their home. It's a win-win! |
