We use the playpen for little Gracie as her bed. I picked up one at a thrift store for $5.00. I keep food and water, a pee pee pad and her bed in it for her. It is situated right by my bed and she knows that it is time to go to sleep whenever I put her in it. I even cover the top and sides with a blanket, leaving one side open so that she can see me and so that I can see her. I never have to worry that she will get into trouble while I am asleep and I can sleep soundly knowing that she is safe in her "big girl bed".
