. Personally, I wouldn't use human shampoo on dogs, as they have a different ph than we do. One of the show breeders on here recommended (some time back) that silks be washed every 4 days, to keep them looking their best. If your dog's skin is drying out, however, maybe just once a week (my opinion). I use PetSilk on Abigail, and she is a silk coat. btw, her head was white/silver down the middle too, for awhile. Now, it's golden/tan.
