It is true , but some one buying a pet , doesn't want to have to worry about wraping hair, investing a lot of money into something they never plan to breed and probably having to hire a handler to finish the dog. A person that wants a pet will have a very hard time letting a handler take their dog to show. I am not saying that it can't be done , I am just saying that it is a big request of some one to finish a pet even if it is show quality.
I know it can be done I finished my very first Shih Tzu I bought all most 30 years ago. But there was a lot to learn and it was expensive.
