Question Stud Question....

In considering a stud for breeding... I'm curious to know what is "preferred" as far as size in relation to the female.

I currently have a 2 lb male who I plan to use, but in looking at another little guy, I'm wondering if his 4 lb size would be acceptable for a 4 lb and up female.

My preference has always been of a male at least 2 lbs smaller than the female being bred... but is it common to see other "variations" as well?

For example only.... if you have a 6 lb stud and a 5 lb female... or a 4 lb stud with a 4 lb female... or even a 7 lb stud with a 4 lb female..... aside from the obvious size and "ability to mount" issues, (where an AI could easily be performed) - what are the other considerations?

A 6 lb male who comes from 3 lb lines - wouldn't necessarily throw larger pups, simply because he is larger..... so what do you think?

(does this make any sense?)
