We travel to Canada from Wisconsin at least one time a month during the spring-fall months. We own a cabin up there....anyway. We take our Bichon along everytime and have only been asked for her rabies certf. a couple times. One time we got searched and had to get rid of all our dog food going into Canada, so now I have a certified letter from the vet stating that she has to have the food she is on or it caused health problems. She rides in her car seat and they always see her right away. She is a good thing to have along as they usually forget to ask us all the necessary questions and just talk about her. I had a health certif. done but they never asked for it so I don't do that anymore.
It might depend on which border crossing you are going through. We get asked alot more questions going though International Falls MN, than we do when going through Grand Portage, MN.
