I think one of the greatest joys I have is waking up in the middle of the night and being able to pet Gizmo or to rub his belly.
When he was little though, he slept in a playpen beside our bed because I was concerned that he might fall off. Now we have steps to the bed and I am very comfortable with him getting down by himself. He's also pee pad trained now.
I wouldn't think you would need to worry about bugs or bacteria if you keep your yorkie groomed and up to date on flea meds.
