i just put a dab of the salt on my tongue. the sour in it gets my mouth watering and it somehow helps me to swallow the pills. also, after I take them, I put another dab on my tongue and it kills the bad after taste. I would guess they sell it at gas stations because apparently, some people use it when they drink their beer. I don't drink so I would know NOTHING about this
