 If Something is dropped pick it up fast

I'm wondering if anyone else out there has this problem. If we drop something, no matter how small, Tootsie can hear it, even if she is in another room, she will come racing, zero in on whatever it is, and grab it, and run like crazy in the other direction. She thinks of it as a treasure. I started chasing her, and can NOT catch her.(She loves this, too)
This morning, my husband dropped his cholesterol pill on the kitchen floor, sure enough, she grabbed it. Luckily, the coating on the pill is very bitter, and she spit it out. Once again, needless to say, my heart was in my mouth.
The only way to get something away from her is to yell "treat" and usually, she will exchange whatever she has swiped for that treat. Now, she has gotten an award for doing something wrong. (She is so fast, she can pick a dime up on the run)
I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?
